Welcome to Lake Chaparral
Located just a few miles north of Mound City, Kansas, in Linn County.
Lake Chaparral is a private community, with the emphasis on community. Here you will find not only a great lake community, but access to three lakes: Timber Lake, Lake De Lago, and of course, Lake Chaparral. The community offers 3 fishing lakes and 1 fishing pond, beaches, docks, boat ramps, 2 shower houses, an open-air pavilion, playground, community room, and other amenities to those who own property within the subdivision. Around the lakes you will see homes, cabins, and small cottages. Additionally, there are lots set up to easily pull in a camping trailer or pitch a tent. The community is heavily treed adding a beautiful aesthetic to your lake surroundings.
A lot of time, attention, and care has been given to the three lakes of Lake Chaparral. Timber Lake is the smallest, nestled in a valley. Lake De Lago is the next largest, and offers a shower house, plus a family barbecue area adjacent to a floating fishing dock, boat ramp, and swimming beach. The largest lake, Lake Chaparral, is the namesake of the community and has yet another beach, shower house, dock and boat ramp. And best of all, since it’s a private community, owners do not need to obtain a fishing license.
